Drowned

I sought someone through the storm
Crashing waves of water thrown
To her hand I fought the lightning
Only seeing flashes of her face
Crystal eyes pleading for me
Such smooth features to entice
And in an instant, all chaos dispersed
Silence reigned, my troubles fled
Strength regained, I flew ahead
Rain and wind returned, tearing at my efforts
Till her coat I reached alone, torn
And downcast from this awful storm
Mere ripples were all that remained
As I crumpled to the sand
Slipping away into the sea.
