Drifting Away

Twilight slides
Beyond one cloud white
From a whisper of a sun
The evening, now begun.

A jazzy interlude sings
Past the stars of my mind
Into the memory of a cloud
Now pink, red, loud.

Dancing, its life erratic
Almost smoke drifting
Above some ancient explosion,
Yet beautiful in her emotion

Subsiding slowly down
The color of cloud calms
As she sails beyond the night
And into her recess, out of sight.
