Season Thoughts

Horses rush through the snow
With happy sleight in tow.
Boughs of snow jump from it’s wake
Landing on my shoes of fine make.

A sparkling shine the sun does ring
With the songs that the children sing.
Melodies sweet as the apple pie
And bright as the glimmer in your eye.

What a blessed time we seem to forget
Until we see all our candles lit,
With their flames warming joined faces
Brought together despite previous places.

Ah, how happy the scenery can be
Without gloomy tragedy,
But caring harmony
Bright as the glowing Christmas tree.

Look at the streets and strings of lights.
See the sounds that ring each night.
Breath the cool air, fresh and pure
With the holiday scents this time of year.

What peace it does bring
To our hearts . .
Let the season ring,
Perhaps, till spring.
