A Skipped Stone

A lake so calm, shares it’s song
A stream so clear drives nearer
To a shore of thought, and image
Of a beautiful rock, polished stone.

Just simple slate, but smooth and sure
Nothing fancy, yet formed luxuriously
Years of slow careful worrying
And ages of warm, water, touches.

Smooth and shining wet
A simple stone glimmers
And with a swinging motion
Thrown out, it happily skips.

And from Stream to lake it travels
And from Lake to stream it sails
Till on another shore it lays
Shimmering as strong as before.
